Nice Hotel Negresco: "Vive Le Negresco"

Stayed there October 29th with my wife for just one night before a cruise. I had stayed there 17 years ago with my family and although not much has changed it is a 1st class hotel without a doubt. Great location in Nice for a short trip. We stayed in an interior room (no sea view) and we found it very comfortable and very roomy. With the Euro so strong it was quite pricey ($390) but if you can afford it and appreciate a luxury hotel it wont disappoint you. ---The only thing that one can say bad about the property is the elevator is very slow but you can always take the grand staircase !

Nice Palais de la Mediterranee: "Praise for the Palais"

The Palais de la Mediterranee is an outstanding all-new hotel in a well-known historic setting. The architecture and design touches resonate well and all services and staff were top-notch. The word must be out, as this under-200 room property is well booked. If you plan on arriving on an early flight, ask to freshen up in the nicely appointed fitness center and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the 3d-level deck, as an early check-in is not likely to be available. If the price seems a tad high, blame the US dollar, not the hotel, as the Palais de la Mediterranee definitely delivers the value. Balance the budget by checking out the many local and ethnic restauarants on the nearby Rue de France and surrounding streets off the Promenade.

Nice Hotel La Perouse: "Breathtaking location"

This hotel is perched above the Quai des Etats Unis, on the hill of the old chateau. Following the advise of another post on la-cote-dazur.com, I requested either room 504 or 501. I received 501, which has a large, very private deck. Views of the sea and the coastline. Excellent decor, ammenities and furnishings. The shared pool, sauna, and hot tub are excellent. Fitness center is small, but with walking Nice, who needs it.
The staff was helpful and really friendly. All spoke English. Breakfast and room service were excellent.
The hotel is a short walk from the flower market in Nice, which has numerous resturants.
This is an expensive hotel, but comparable to a Four Seasons or Ritz in any major US city. Stay here for a special occasion.

Nice Hotel Westminster Concorde: "Great time in Nice"

Just got back from 7 nights in the Westminster in Nice (September 2004). Had a great time, room was lovely, newly renovated and very clean. We initially got a small room but when we asked were there any bigger rooms, we got one no problem. Staff were helpful, concierge and house staff exceptionally friendly, restaurant staff were typically French! The hotel is in a great location for visiting the centre of Nice and there are some lovely restaurants in the streets around it.

Nice Hotel Le Grimaldi: "Exceeded expectations"

This is a small very well run hotel in an excellent location (about 5mins to beach and shops, 10 mins to old town). Our room was newly furnished, the bathroom was new with luxurious L'Occitane toiletries. The service from all members of staff was accommodating, friendly and incredibly helpful. The breakfast was good quality - even the selection of teas was impressive. There was no noise from the street. I would definitely stay here again.
