Nice, the pearl of the French Riviera, is a busy commercial city and the capital of the Alpes Maritimes department. Once the seaside retreat for the turn of the century English aristocracy, today the city of Nice is France's fifth largest city. Both elegant and simple, Nice's charm comes from its exceptional climate as well as its beauty.

Located at a junction along the French Riviera it is an excellent stand for exploring the rest of this region including: Cannes, St Tropez and Monaco Known for its spectacular scenery the French Riviera visually astonishing and Nice does not displease with a backdrop of enchanting villages perched on luxuriant, green mountains. It is facile to walk around Nice, and for excursions further range there is a good local bus service.

Nice - Côte d'Azur international airport

is situated 7 kilometers (4 miles) west of Nice. Over 40 national and international airlines fly in and out of Nice, and services to Paris are very frequent. Nice airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 for international flights and Terminal 2 for European and French flights. A free shuttle bus connects the two terminals. The shuttle bus runs approximately every 15 minutes. Buses operate between the airport and the city center approximately every 15 minutes. A half-hourly bus service runs from the airport to Nice train station (journey time 10 to 15 minutes)
